We got a call from Dick’s brother Donn and sister-in-law Andi last week. They will be coming to Adrian 6/28 to 7/1. I can’t even describe the panic that gripped me. My Mom died in January of 2018 and since then her bedroom has become the Stash Studio Annex or Yarn Dump which ever you prefer. Eighteen months of only adding to never subtracting from. Eighteen months of tucking things away. We did have the 5 months when the entire basement was being salvaged from our flood which was a time things were added in other places but eventually ended up in Mom’s room. Wednesday Barb and I going to the Coastal Condo for a few days of chick time so I can’t shovel out then. To make a long, sad story short, I have put a hold on fearless knitting until the bedroom is company clean. In the mean time, I will be scouting out the fearless knitting of others.
It may be just a coincidence but it seems like people all around me are also knitting fearlessly. I see delectable designs being knit with yummy yarn into terrific treasures. I guess I stuffed that sentence full of alliterations but I just love word play. Two Sundays ago 6/ 2, Linda Schwam and I were teaching a class “So, You Want To Be A Better Knitter.” One of our attendees was Lynn who is a fabulous knitter. Lynn had just taken the Butterfly Shawl class from our new teacher Sue Nelson who is a spectacular knitter. Lynn brought her shawl in for me to steam. It hit me “I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO IS KNITTING FEARLESSLY!!!” That gave me a thought, why don’t I collect other people’s examples of fearless knitting and share those with you?!?! I know you are familiar with the Butterfly Shawl (really called Papillon). It is a short row extravaganza made with several different colors of yarn. I was at the Coastal Condo when the class began and I had many projects on the needles and I was just starting to investigate what I would include in the category of fearless knitting so I didn’t take it. I have always been fascinated by this amazingly complex pattern. Here is my first offering of the fearless knitting of others. This is Sue Nelson’s. I love the blending of pinks, purples and grays. Is it any wonder that everybody at Ann’s By Design fell in love with this? This is Lynn’s. Very different but just as beautiful as Sue’s. Every Papillon in the class was different and every one was stunning. Knitters said this is a very well written pattern. You don’t see a lot of those much any more.

So sweet to see you share Sue and Lynn's Papillon creations. I love that you fearlessly share glorious knitting by others. :)
