Well, now is the time! The fabulous unveiling of my extra most bestest Christmas gift for Linda. As soon as I found this pattern terms like destiny, meant to be, kismet flew into my brain. Ever since I’ve known Linda, she’s loved Tetris. When I found a scarf pattern of Tetris, I literally squealed. It was beautiful! It was perfect! It was Linda! I immediately raced out and bought the yarn and began knitting this scarf using one of my favorite techniques, double knitting. Double knitting, beautiful colors, knitting for Linda. Could anything be more perfect!?!? Well, here it is. Ta-da! The unveiling!
Isn’t it absolutely amazing! Just wait until you see the back side.
Tetris is knit using multi colors of Cascade Heritage and Ultra Alpaca Lite. Ultra Alpaca Lite is my go-to black or charcoal yarn for background.
Eek! I had to weave in literally hundreds of yarn ends because of the mass amounts of color changes. If I could have packed any more superlatives into that description, I would have. Suffice it to say, it took me a while. This magnificent, masterpiece is a true labor of love. I made Linda promise she wouldn’t read Knitting: A Love Story until after she has opened the package.
The gift is in the mail. On Monday I should hear a squeal of delight coming from the north west. Merry Christmas my dear friend.
This blog is dedicated to Mary Helen Growt my first knitting teacher and the woman who changed my life. The mission of Knitting: A Love Story is to preserve, share and promote the love of knitting.
