We are at the Coastal Condo waiting for Kathy and Ken, my sister and her husband, to come. It was a challenge to develop new holiday traditions after my Mom died but I think we’ve nailed it. Thanksgiving at Kathy’s in Cartersville, GA and Christmas at the Coastal Condo., The car was packed to the gills. There were even a couple of important things we couldn’t fit in. Knitting projects are always easy to fit in. You just put a few skeins in a small knitting bag and you can tuck it into the smallest spaces in the car. Suffice it to say, I put in many little bags. Dick just doesn’t get why I need to take so many different projects. It’s just like books. You need several of those too because you just don’t know what you’re going to feel like. Let’s take a peak at what I brought., This is Waterside Shawl the 2018 Rose City Yarn Crawl kit Linda bought for me. It was designed by Kat Archer of Twisted, one of my favorite LYS in the Rose City Yarn Crawl. Just listen to the description of Waterside Shawl. “Like light reflecting water, the colors of this shawl ripple and fade from one to the next. A perfect canvas for your favorite color palette, choose one that evokes sunrise over a river, mid-day on the coast or any other waterside locale.” Wait until you see the Blue Moon Super Sparkle Linda chose for me. Aren’t they amazing!?!? And so me. Linda knows what I love. I also brought my rendition of Spice Market. Jane, Viv and Linda my Myrtle Beach knitting buddies took a class at Knit ‘N Purl last January. I’ve had the pattern in my iBooks for quite a while and hadn’t gotten around to choose colors. Does it surprise you that mine ended up being a Roy G Biv with dark gray? It didn’t surprise me. So I decided to bring this incase this was what floated my boat. Then there is S Curve. I bought this last Christmas at The Yarn Barn of Kansas. I heard my name being called across the room. I looked up and there it was. I love it. How about Olga Buraya-Kefelian’s new Winter Suns? I saw this and immediately fell in love. I may need to find more perfect yarn than I brought with me. Well, there you have it. My cornucopia of knitting choices for the Coastal Condo. I can't wait to get absorbed in one or all of these beauties. New Year’s Eve I will reveal how I did with My Year Of Fearless Knitting. For now Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
