Three friends and I are going to the condo Saturday for a few days. We will have three days of knitting, bridge, book club and eating out. Doesn't that sound fun. I will be working on another scarf in EQ. I wonder when I'll hit the EQ wall!?!?!?! If we have time, I will be able to visit Knit 'N Purl and check out the shop with the new owner. I also will get to see the amazing Miss Molly. In the mean time, if you haven't checked out Kauni EQ, please do. You will love it.
I am experiencing an amazing joyride with the Dovetail Shawl and Kauni EQ. When I finished my first Dovetail. . . made with Kauni EQ and Kauni Navy, I just didn't feel like I was finished. I had more Dovetail to knit and more Kauni EQ to bring to life. I decided I would use two balls of EQ starting each ball at a different color. I loved the first Dovetail and it is beautiful, but there were some places where the EQ and the navy were so much alike it was difficult to see the pattern. Besides I just need to knit with EQ. I feel compulsive and addicted. I think I have 15 patterns in the queue to knit using EQ. Well, here is Dovetail Revisited. This is what it looked when I started with one ball on green and one on orange. It was so interesting watching the colors from each ball change. As the colors changed, the pattern popped. One pair was more exciting than the last. Then came the next which was even better. This seemed to move much faster. Now it is finished. Once the steaming was done and colors were snap, crackle and popping, I was overcome with its beauty. The first was was spectacular, but I felt this was in another universe. An interesting thing was the color fade in each ball was different. Sometimes one had a longer color and sometimes the other. The color combinations were beautiful and unexpected. Beautiful! Amazing! Spectacular! I need to do some fixing of the bottom edge. I don't like the wavy look. I think I'll take the bind off out and do a few rows of garter to smooth it out. I couldn't wait to show you, so that will just have to wait.
